Nearly fifty percent of people over 50 have ropey varicose leg veins. In fact, 15-20% of all adults worldwide suffer from achy, discolored, and bulging veins. The good news is that the Sciton Pro-V laser offers a fast, safe and successful way to get rid of leg veins. You do not have to imagine what healthy legs look like, you can have them!
How does it work?
The surgeon first numbs the area to be treated with a local anesthetic. Then a laser fiber is inserted into the non-functioning vein. Laser pulses are delivered via the fiber causing the vein to painlessly collapse. EVLT stops the formation of future varicosities that could result from this one bad vein. Your body then reabsorbs the treated vessel over time. Treatment takes about one hour from set-up to post operative time. Most people find EVLT to be easy and comfortable.
Will insurance cover treatment?
Yes, most insurances cover varicose veins.
Why Pro-V for varicose veins?
- Good cosmetic results
- Fast, safe and effective
- In-office procedure
- Quick recovery
How many treatments do I need?
The treated vessel typically closes with one treatment. Studies show a 100% closure rate at two days post procedure, and there is less than 1% of reoccurrence over time.
How will I look after treatment?
Your leg will be wrapped with a compression bandage following procedure, but you will be up and walking around within 30 minutes. You might experience mild bruising and swelling. Most people resume easy activities within a day.
