Skin Resurfacing and Wrinkle Treatment
Give us a few moments and well give you back a decade!
Dr. VanAntwerps innovative laser skin resurfacing techniques give you back the baby smooth skin you had as a child. His facial resurfacing program involves the use of three different lasers to remove lines, wrinkles, age spots, scars and spider veins. You get the benefits of smoother, firmer and more radiant skin. This treatment program thickens and tightens the skin without giving the stretched appearance often seen with face lifts.

Skin resurfacing lasers include:
- Pulsed Dye Laser flashes a bright yellow light through the skin to eliminate superficial facial spider veins and to thicken the fibrous or elastic layer of skin.
- Ultrapulse co2 Laser vaporizes sun damaged and finely wrinkled skin. This laser shrinks and thickens aged skin.
- Erbium Laser a new type of resurfacing laser that enables Dr. VanAntwerp to smooth fine lines and scars without causing heat damage to deeper layers of the skin. The use of the erbium laser reduces the prolonged redness often seen with resurfacing. Dr. VanAntwerp also uses the erbium laser to resurface the neck, preventing a line of demarcation between a newly resurfaced face and a sun-damaged neck.
How do I know if Im a candidate for this treatment?
Dr. VanAntwerp offers a free consultation to discuss any questions you might have concerning this treatment program. He reviews all treatment options and gives full price disclosure during your visit.
Does resurfacing help with acne scars?
An acne-scarred face usually responds well to laser facial resurfacing. We have many pleased patients and many wonderful results to show you.
Will I experience much pain during or after the procedure?
Many patients worry about whether they will be comfortable. Our goal is to maximize your comfort. Most patients opt for intravenous sedation during the procedure and experience no discomfort. A qualified anesthesiologist administers this type of anesthesia in the safety and comfort of our ambulatory surgical center. All patients receive prescriptions for pain medication postoperatively but many patients find this unnecessary.
Will I miss much work?
You do go through a healing period and need about a week off from work. Most people experience swelling for 1-3 days. The skin generally forms a new layer in 5-7 days. This skin may have a pink hue (like a mild sunburn) for two weeks to two months. Makeup may be used after one week.
Dr. VanAntwerp and his staff would love to answer your questions about skin resurfacing. During your free consultation, you will be shown before and after photos of Dr. VanAntwerps patients who now enjoy the benefits of skin resurfacing.
